CSX Corp. Announces First Quarter 2026 Results
CSX Corp. announced first quarter 2026 operating income of $1.25 billion and net earnings of $807 million, or $0.43 per diluted share. In the first quarter of 2025, the company reported operating income of $1.04 billion and net earnings of $646 million, or $0.34 per diluted share.

Trump’s Transportation Secretary Sean P. Duffy to Invest $1.1 Billion into Safety Infrastructure at Railroad Crossings
U.S. Transportation Department Secretary Sean P. Duffy today announced a $1.1 billion investment into improving safety infrastructure at railroad crossings to save American lives. Every year, more than 2,000 incidents and 300 fatalities occur at railroad crossings nationwide.

AAR Reports Weekly Rail Traffic for the Week Ending April 18, 2026
The Association of American Railroads (AAR) today reported U.S. rail traffic for the week ending April 18, 2026. For this week, total U.S. weekly rail traffic was 508,303 carloads and intermodal units, up 2.5 percent compared with the same week last year.

Amtrak Unveils Replica Liberty Bell at Philadelphia’s Gray 30th Street Station
Amtrak unveiled a new replica Liberty Bell at William H. Gray III 30th Street Station in celebration of America’s 250th anniversary. Part of the Bells Across PA program and titled The Ringing Railroad, the train-inspired installation designed by Sean Martorana will remain on display at the station through the end of 2026.
