Maryland Transit Administration Earns Leed Silver Certification for Purple Line Operations Facility
The Maryland Department of Transportation Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) announced that the U.S. Green Building Council has awarded LEED Silver certification to the newly constructed Purple Line Operations and Maintenance Facility located in Glenridge, Maryland. This prestigious designation for leadership in energy and environmental design recognizes the facility’s adherence to high-performance standards in energy efficiency, water conservation and environmental stewardship.

AAR Reports Weekly Rail Traffic for the Week Ending March 14, 2026
The Association of American Railroads (AAR) today reported U.S. rail traffic for the week ending March 14, 2026. For this week, total U.S. weekly rail traffic was 508,737 carloads and intermodal units, up 1.1 percent compared with the same week last year.

Bus Service to Replace Trains Bridgeport Station to Norristown Transit Center, Mar. 29 – May 9
SEPTA has announced that shuttle buses will replace train service from Bridgeport Station to Norristown Transit Center. This will allow for the major rehabilitation and structural repair project on the [M] Norristown High Speed Line’s Bridgeport Viaduct.
