NJ Transit’s Fiscal Year Operating Budget and Five Year Capital Plan
The NJ TRANSIT Board of Directors adopted a Fiscal Year 2021 (FY 2021) operating budget and A Five-Year Capital Plan that supports continued investments in frontline personnel, infrastructure and equipment to maintain the system in a state-of-good repair, helps advance its 10-year Strategic Plan (NJT2030) and includes additional spending due to the ongoing effort to reduce the spread of COVID-19, all without raising fares for a third straight fiscal year.

Rail Traffic for the Week Ending October 17, 2020
The Association of American Railroads (AAR) today reported U.S. rail traffic for the week ending October 17, 2020. For this week, total U.S. weekly rail traffic was 518,763 carloads and intermodal units, up 2.2 percent compared with the same week last year.

Smucker Introduces the Keystone Line for the Commonwealth Act
On October 13, Pennsylvania State Representative Lloyd Smucker (PA-11) announced the introduction of H.R. 8389, the Keystone Line for the Commonwealth Act. The legislation would require Amtrak to transfer ownership of the Keystone East Line and certain stations along that line to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for management by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT).
