Union Pacific’s Donated Steam Engines and Other Historical Rail Equipment Will Embark on November Journey to New Home in Illinois
Union Pacific Railroad announced two steam engines that are among the last of their kind in existence, including the 1940s-era Challenger No. 3985, will travel from Wyoming to Illinois in November, with other pieces of vintage rail equipment.

CP Reports Third-Quarter Results
Canadian Pacific Railway Limited announced its third-quarter 2022 results, including revenues of $2.31 billion, reported operating ratio (“OR”) of 59.5 percent, adjusted OR1 of 58.7 percent, reported diluted earnings per share (“EPS”) of $0.96 and core adjusted diluted EPS1 of $1.01.

Rail Traffic for the Week Ending October 22, 2022
The Association of American Railroads (AAR) reported U.S. rail traffic for the week ending October 22, 2022. For this week, total U.S. weekly rail traffic was 505,322 carloads and intermodal units, down 1.1 percent compared with the same week last year. Total carloads for the week ending October 22 were 237,456 carloads, down 0.7 percent compared with the same week in 2021, while U.S. weekly intermodal volume was 267,866 containers and trailers, down 1.4 percent compared to 2021.

Norfolk Southern Reports Third Quarter 2022 Financial Results
Norfolk Southern Corporation today announced third quarter 2022 financial results which included records for railway operating revenues, income from railway operations, net income, and diluted earnings per share. Third quarter railway operating revenue was $3.3 billion, income from railway operations was $1.3 billion, net income was $958 million, and diluted earnings per share were $4.10.

CSX Announces Third Quarter Financial Results
CSX Corp. announced third quarter 2022 operating income of $1.58 billion compared to $1.44 billion in the prior year period. Net earnings of $1.11 billion, or $0.52 per share, compared to $968 million, or $0.43 per share in the same period last year.

The Holiday Fair Returns to Grand Central After Two Years
The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) today announced the return of New York City’s longest-running indoor holiday fair to Grand Central after a two-year pause. The Holiday Fair this year – presented by SL Green Realty Corp and AmericanGreetings.com – will run for six weeks in the Vanderbilt Hall, beginning Monday, Nov. 14.
