Vermont Railway to Acquire New England Southern

The Vermont Railway has entered into an agreement to acquire the New England Southern Railroad (NES), with a base of operations at Canterbury Yard, which is located 10 miles north of Conford, New Hampshire. The NES has operating rights over 73 miles of the State of New Hampshire owned White Mountain Branch, linking Concord and Lincoln, New Hampshire. The Vermont Railway plans to develop new traffic along the line.
