MBTA’s Ashland Station to Receive $2.5 Million in Repairs and Improvements

The MBTA today announced that Ashland Station, on the Framingham/Worcester Commuter Rail Line, will receive $2.5 million in station repairs and improvements. This work will include the complete restoration of the pedestrian overpass, including stairs and walkways; platform resurfacing and painting; repairs and improvements to the accessible platform; upgraded lighting; and installation of digital signage. In order to perform this critical improvement work, Ashland Station will close on August 26 through fall 2023 with alternate shuttle bus service available for passengers.

During the station closure, accessible shuttle buses will provide service between Southborough and Framingham Stations. Shuttle buses will pick up passengers at each station. The schedule and location of shuttle bus stops will be available online soon. Parking is also available at neighboring stations, including Framingham Station (4.1 miles away or about a 12-minute drive) and Southborough Station (2.6 miles away or about a 5-minute drive).
