The Association of American Railroads (AAR) today reported U.S. rail traffic for the week ending February 14, 2026. For this week, total U.S. weekly rail traffic was 510,399 carloads and intermodal units, up 6.2 percent compared with the same week last year.

Amtrak Expands Flex Dining Options for Lunch and Dinner on Five Long Distance Trains
Amtrak Long Distance Sleeping Car guests can now enjoy an expanded Flex Dining menu with the introduction of new lunch options for an improved and more delicious onboard experience. The new menu items allow guests greater choice between these lighter meals or the existing, heartier entrees, doubling their options after previously having shared offerings for both lunch and dinner.

Gateway Development Commission Files Breach of Contract Claim against the Federal Government:
The Gateway Development Commission (GDC) has filed a lawsuit against the federal government in the U.S. Court of Federal Claims seeking judgment that would release contractually-obligated grant and loan funds for the Hudson Tunnel Project (HTP). If additional funding does not become available by February 6, 2026, construction of the HTP will have to pause, resulting in the loss of nearly 1,000 jobs.
