Amtrak Announces Simplified Fares Coming Soon
Based on extensive customer research, and in an effort to better meet customer needs, Amtrak will soon introduce a new, simplified fare structure with more flexible and affordable options. The simpler fare structure is scheduled to launch later this fall and builds on other recent improvements Amtrak has made to the booking experience.

Alstom concludes the successful demonstration of the First Commercial Service Hydrogen-Powered Train in North America
Alstom announced the first results of North America’s first demonstration of hydrogen-powered trains. The Coradia iLint carried more than 10,000 passengers, over 130 trips spanning 10,660 kilometres in Quebec this summer from mid-June to the end of September.

On October 11, Acting Transportation Secretary and CEO Monica Tibbits-Nutt, MBTA General Manager and CEO Phillip Eng, Senator Brendan P. The Association of American Railroads (AAR) today reported U.S. rail traffic for the week ending October 7, 2023. For this week, total U.S. weekly rail traffic was 499,217 carloads and intermodal units, up 3.0 percent compared with the same week last year.
