Amtrak Awards Key Contracts to Advance Sawtooth Bridges Replacement Project
Amtrak has achieved a major milestone for the Sawtooth Bridges Replacement Project, selecting a Skanska, Walsh & Herzog Joint Venture to conduct pre-construction activities along with future contract opportunities for the project’s full construction scope. This important state-of-good-repair investment will construct multiple bridge structures with four total tracks, replacing the existing aging asset and significantly enhancing capacity, reliability, and speed along the most heavily traveled segment of the Northeast Corridor (NEC).

Kris Kolluri Appointed as NJT President and CEO
Governor Phil Murphy today announced that Kris Kolluri will serve as the next President and CEO of NJ TRANSIT following the resignation of Kevin Corbett, who will continue to serve in the position until January 15th, 2025. The NJ TRANSIT Board of Directors unanimously voted to confirm the Governor’s nomination during Wednesday’s Board meeting.

Amtrak Completes Upgrades at North Carolina Station
Amtrak is excited to announce that renovations at the G.K. Butterfield Station in Wilson, N.C., are now complete. Amtrak completed the $4 million project in partnership with the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) and in cooperation with the City of Wilson, North Carolina Department of Transportation, and CSX to improve the station. The project is part of the ongoing and companywide commitment at Amtrak to ensure a safe, efficient, and comfortable travel experience for customers.
