NJ TRANSIT Expands Fare-Pay Cards to Entire Bus Fleet and all Three Light Rail Systems:

NJ TRANSIT’s “FARE-PAY” card is now available to customers traveling all NJ TRANSIT buses statewide as well as the Newark Light Rail, the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail and the River LINE systems. The reusable cards allow customers to purchase and store monthly passes, 10-trip bus tickets or cash value on them to enjoy the convenience of tap-and-go.

AAR Reports Weekly Rail Traffic for the Week Ending September 13, 2025

The Association of American Railroads (AAR) today reported U.S. rail traffic for the week ending September 13, 2025.  For this week, total U.S. weekly rail traffic was 514,167 carloads and intermodal units, down 1.6 percent compared with the same week last year.

Discovery Park of America’s 1913 Locomotive Undergoes Major Restoration

Discovery Park of America has completed a major restoration of its historic 1913 steam locomotive, No. 1149, and passenger cars, made possible by funding from the Robert E. and Jenny D. Kirkland Foundation. The work on the locomotive was performed by Baynum Solutions, which specializes in restoring historic assets, amusement attractions and industrial structures with a focus on precision and long-term preservation.
