CSX Corp. announced third quarter 2021 net earnings of $968 million, or $0.43 per share, compared to $736 million, or $0.32 per share in the same period last year. Third quarter 2021 operating ratio was 56.4% compared to 56.9% in the prior year period.

The Association of American Railroads (AAR) reported U.S. rail traffic for the week ending October 16, 2021. For this week, total U.S. weekly rail traffic was 496,983 carloads and intermodal units, down 4.2 percent compared with the same week last year.
