CSX Announces First Quarter 2022 Financial Results
CSX Corp. today announced first quarter 2022 net earnings of $859 million, or $0.39 per share, compared to $706 million, or $0.31 per share in the same period last year. First quarter 2022 operating income was $1.28 billion compared to $1.10 billion in the prior year period.

CSX Announces Advances on Future Wage Adjustments for Unionized Operations Employees
CSX Corp. announced it has reached a tentative agreement with the Sheet Metal, Air, Rail and Transportation Workers, Transportation Division (SMART-TD) to provide SMART-TD Trainmen and Yardmasters with monthly advance payments on future wage adjustments anticipated in settlement of the 2020 round of national bargaining between rail labor and the Class I railroads. CSX also notified its other labor organization representatives that it intends to reach agreements to provide identical payments to all unionized employees.

Rail Traffic for the Week Ending April 16, 2022
The Association of American Railroads (AAR) today reported U.S. rail traffic for the week ending April 16, 2022. .For this week, total U.S. weekly rail traffic was 489,801 carloads and intermodal units, down 8.1 percent compared with the same week last year.

Steamtown National Historic Site Announces 2022 Train Schedule
Train rides are returning to Steamtown National Historic Site (NHS) beginning Saturday, May 14, 2022 and coinciding with National Train Day. The Steamtown rail experience varies from short 30-minute trips exploring the park’s historic railroad yard to full-day trips through the Poconos. Short train rides, the Scranton Limited and Caboose Experience, will begin on Saturday, May 14th. The first excursion trip of the season will take place on Saturday, May 28th to Jessup, PA allowing visitors to experience the annual Saint Ubaldo Day “Running of the Saints” (La Corsa dei Ceri).

CSX Receives Approval from Surface Transportation Board to Acquire Pan Am Railways
CSX Corp. announced that the Surface Transportation Board (STB) approved CSX’s application to acquire Pan Am Railways, Inc. (Pan Am). CSX will move forward with the acquisition with a planned closing date of June 1, 2022, at which time CSX will acquire control of Pan Am.
