SEPTA Announces New Regional Rail Schedules

SEPTA is advising customers that some changes are being made to select Regional Rail schedules starting next week. These updates will impact the AirportChestnut Hill EastChestnut Hill WestTrentonWarminster, and West Trenton Lines.

New timetables will go into effect on Sunday, April 24, 2022. Below are some highlights of the upcoming service adjustments:

  • The addition of two round trips, one in the late morning and one in the early afternoon, between Center City and Glenside to accommodate off-peak riders
  • Enhanced weekend service on the Warminster/Glenside Lines with hourly through-service to and from Philadelphia International Airport
  • Adjusted weekend arrival and departure times for trains connecting to and from NJ Transit service on the Trenton Line

The changes will maintain Regional Rail service at 75 percent of pre-COVID levels. Regional Rail ridership has returned gradually over the past year and is currently at about 47 percent of pre-pandemic levels.

SEPTA would also like to inform riders that parking at Regional Rail stations will continue to be free through August. ”

Schedules on SEPTA’s transit modes, including buses, subways, and trolleys, have already returned to near pre-pandemic levels. Transit ridership has also seen steady growth and now stands at approximately 52 percent of pre-COVID levels.
