SEPTA T and D1 Trolley Service Updates

At the start of the day on Thursday, November 13, SEPTA’s [T] Center City Trolley tunnel will reopen and regular service will resume.

SEPTA made the decision to close the [T] trolley tunnel on Friday, November 7 due to problems with power transmission from the overhead catenary wires. The shutdown gave crews time to thoroughly inspect the catenary system, perform necessary repairs, and conduct testing before reopening the tunnel. Out of an abundance of caution, the closure was extended through Wednesday to ensure that service would be reliable once the tunnel reopened.

D1 Shuttle Busing Continues until Further Notice

In the meantime, on the [D1], busing will continue between Drexel Hill Junction and Orange St in order to make overhead wire repairs related to a fallen tree.

All SEPTA trolley overhead catenary systems have undergone thorough inspections in recent weeks following an order from the Federal Transit Administration.

We understand that these service disruptions have had a significant impact on the daily lives of our riders. We apologize and thank you for your patience as we continue to focus on delivering the safe service our customers deserve.
