SEPTA is advising customers that some changes are being made to select Regional Rail schedules starting this weekend. These updates will impact the Wilmington/Newark, West Trenton, Lansdale/Doylestown, Warminster, and Glenside Lines. New timetables will go into effect on Sunday, January 8. Below are some highlights of the upcoming service adjustments:
- Wilmington/Newark
- Significant schedule changes are being made to accommodate Amtrak State of Good Repair work to improve track, roadbed, and bridges between Marcus Hook and Darby Stations
- These repairs will be performed from January through May 2023
- SEPTA trains will operate on the same track as Amtrak trains, which may cause delays
- Riders should add extra time to their trip and check the schedule for new departure and arrival times on all trains
- West Trenton
- Riders should check the schedule for new departure and arrival times
- Lansdale/Doylestown
- Several trains will no longer operate to/from the Wilmington/Newark Line due to Amtrak work and will terminate/originate at 30th Street Station
- These trains will also no longer operate to/from Penn Medicine Station
- Riders should check the schedule for new departure and arrival times
- Warminster
- Riders should check the schedule for new departure and arrival times
- Glenside
- Riders should check the schedule for new departure and arrival times
The changes will maintain Regional Rail service at 75 percent of pre-COVID levels. Regional Rail ridership has returned gradually and is currently at about half of pre-pandemic levels.
Riders who may need a refresher on SEPTA Key, including how to use Travel Wallet, tap on and off for fare validation on Regional Rail, and purchase or reload a Key Card, should visit the SEPTA Key ecommerce site at septakey.org.
