Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town on SEPTA

The SEPTA Santa Express – sponsored by Penn Medicine – returns for its 31st year to kick off the holiday season in Center City Philadelphia, on Friday, November 25.

Join SEPTA and Center City District for a fun-filled holiday train ride from NRG Station on the Broad Street Line to City Hall Station, followed by a festive parade to welcome Santa Claus to Rothman Orthopedics Ice Rink at Dilworth Park. Stay and skate with Santa and shop for gifts at the Made in Philadelphia Holiday Market.

The SEPTA Santa Express will be specially decorated for the occasion, and helpers will be at NRG Station to hand out special 2022 SEPTA Santa Express bags, buttons, and more.

Details:

  • Festivities start at NRG Station at 10 a.m. with live music, balloon animals, a special appearance from Paws, and more
  • The northbound Santa Express Broad Street Line train leaves NRG Station at approximately 10:45 a.m., arriving at City Hall at about 11 a.m. (The ride from NRG to City Hall Station is free for this specific train)
  • The ‘Santa Express’ will make all local stops between NRG Station in South Philadelphia and City Hall Station in Center City
  • Santa will be at Dilworth Park until noon

There are many other ways to get to Dilworth Park on SEPTA in time to greet Santa – and SEPTA reminds everyone that all children 11 and under ride for free. Plan your trip here.
