Reading & Northern Pottsville Excursions Return in 2025

Reading & Northern Railroad is pleased to announce its schedule of Reading to Pottsville excursions for 2025. While the railroad may be more well-known for its
excursions to Jim Thorpe, Pottsville has many of its own unique attractions which provide a great change of pace for passengers to spend a spring or summer day.

Upon arrival, passengers will once again be greeted by the Pottsville Outdoor Market. First appearing by happenstance in 2023, the market worked with the railroad to ensure that its 2024 appearances coincided
with the excursion trains. This proved to be a great favorite with guests. The market is under new ownership in 2025, and the new owners have pledged to be on hand with their offerings every time a
Reading & Northern passenger train operates to Pottsville. Fresh produce, specialty foods and beverages, and unique arts and crafts are just some of the delights that await visitors.

The most famous attraction of all must be the Yuengling Brewery (America’s oldest), which guests receive a free tour of as part of their ticket price. Jerry’s Classic Car Museum, another Pottsville favorite,
offers discounted admission to all excursion riders. The Schuylkill County Historical Society Museum also offers discounted admission and a wealth of exhibits showcasing the rich history of the area.
Passengers have over four hours to explore the city, as the return trip departs at a new time this year of 4:00pm. The city of Pottsville provides a trolley to take visitors around to these various attractions.

The train departs Reading Outer Station at 10:00am and operates nonstop to Pottsville, reaching the city in approximately one hour. Tickets for these fantastic excursions are reasonably priced at $39.00 each and
are available now at www.rbmnrr-passenger.com (under “Special Event Tickets”) or by phone at 610 562-2102. All trains are scheduled for Saturdays and will operate on May 17, June 14, July 12, August
16, and September 20.
