Reading & Northern Cancels F-Unit Excursions Due to Covid Concerns

For the health and safety of our passengers coming from all over the country, and due to the uptick in cases here in Pennsylvania, and additional mandates/recommendations, the Reading & Northern will be canceling the Railfan F-Unit Excursions on August 1st and September 5th. After lengthy discussions, the railroad came to this uneasy decision due to the excursions being almost sold out, leaving no room for social distancing in the cars or taking pictures in lines during the photo runbys and while serving food on the train. Tickets will not go to waste.  Ticket holders  can simply keep your order confirmation number and use these tickets as a voucher when these trips run in the future, date to be determined. The railroad will give a week’s notice before the F-Unit excursion goes on sale to the public. At that point, the voucher can be used towards the trip by calling the passenger office. Or, the Reading & Northern policy, stating that tickets are good forever and can be used on any other excursion, applies.
