The Virginia Museum of Transportation is pleased to announce that this week, 611 Engine Crew members supported by CMO Scott Lindsay and Strasburg Rail Road have been hard at work completing the engine’s fifth annual FRA inspection. A test fire was conducted to set the safety valves and witness the proper operation of the engine’s various steam powered appliances.

We appreciate the support of the Strasburg Rail Road Mechanical Department, Steam Operations Corporation, and our volunteer engine crew members.

While the engine continues to be readied for service, stay tuned for future 611 announcements as they become available.
