Whether you’re a history enthusiast planning a day trip or a student learning on the go, NJ TRANSIT’s Jersey Journeys campaign is your ticket to celebrating the nation’s 250th anniversary by exploring key New Jersey historic sites that helped shape the nation. The campaign launched today at an event at Liberty Hall on Kean University’s campus. “Jersey Journeys: Every Stop Tells a Story” includes an interactive map showcasing more than 150 historic sites and landmarks across the Garden State, easily accessible by NJ TRANSIT bus, rail, or light rail. From Revolutionary War battlefields and colonial homes to cultural museums and monuments, the Jersey Journeys map makes it easy to explore New Jersey’s contributions to American history.
The interactive map allows users to easily find and explore historic sites scattered across the state of New Jersey, including monuments, battlefields, architecture, and other historic locations. The map provides route details on the fastest way to access these sites. www.njtransit.com/journeys.
The project supports the state’s broader efforts to honor America’s 250th anniversary while promoting local tourism, education, and civic pride.
Jersey Journeys adds to NJ TRANSIT’s growing set of resources to help residents and visitors alike take advantage of public transportation to enjoy everything New Jersey has to offer. NJ TRANSIT’s “Transit to Trails” (www.njtransit.com/trails) provides similar travel planning information for over 40 parks in 21 New Jersey counties, while “Pizza & Pints” (www.njtransit.com/pizza) lets people plan trips to over 165 world-class pizzerias, breweries, wineries, and distilleries in the state.
