MBTA Worcester Service Line Temporary Suspension of Mid-Day Trains

Beginning on Monday, July 10, 2023, the Worcester Line of the MBTA Commuter Rail will operate on a temporarily modified weekday schedule that reduces the number of midday trains to allow work on multiple infrastructure improvements along the Worcester Line.

By making these adjustments, construction can advance on the Natick Center Accessibility Improvements ProjectWorcester Union Station Improvements Project, and rail replacement work west of Framingham station.  These projects will improve safety, reliability, and accessibility for riders.  Adjusting the midday schedule during the week will allow these important projects to move forward without fully disrupting service for passengers on the Worcester Line.

The temporary schedule will remain in place until September when midday service on the Worcester Line will be restored.  Weekday peak service in the morning and the evening will not be impacted by construction. The temporary schedule for the Worcester Line will include the following adjustments:

Inbound weekday service:

  • Trains 512, 516 and 522 temporarily eliminated

Outbound weekday service:

  • Trains 507, 511 and 517 temporarily eliminated
