The MBTA and Keolis Commuter Services, the agency’s operating partner for Commuter Rail, announced that Commuter Rail service on the Kingston, Middleborough, and Greenbush lines will be replaced by an accessible shuttle bus service between South Station and Braintree after 7:30 p.m. on weeknights from May 8 to June 1 and all day on the weekends of May 13 – 14 and May 20 – 21. These Commuter Rail service diversions are required to safely accommodate the Red Line track work that was previously announced by the MBTA .

Keolis Customer Service Agents will be on-site at South Station and Braintree Stations as well as other impacted stations to support customers.

The diversion schedule will be available online at mbta.com/CRschedule. The accessible shuttle bus service will run express between South Station and Braintree Station.

For weekday outbound passengers, the last train from South Station to Braintree is Middleborough Train 025 which departs South Station at 7:05 p.m. After that, accessible shuttle bus service will replace Middleborough, Kingston, and Greenbush trains between South Station and Braintree where passengers can connect to regular train service.

For weekday inbound passengers, the last train from Braintree to South Station is Middleborough train 022 which departs Braintree Station at 5:13 p.m. and reaches South Station at 5:39 p.m. After that time, passengers at Braintree Station will connect to an accessible shuttle bus service to South Station.

During the weekend of May 20–21, accessible shuttle bus service will also replace Commuter Rail service between Bridgewater and Middleborough/Lakeville to allow crews to perform work in support of South Coast Rail.

There will be regular Commuter Rail Service Friday May 26 through Sunday May 28. On Monday, May 29, Memorial Day, Commuter Rail will operate on a regular weekend schedule.
