CPKC has announced the “Final Spike Steam Tour,” departing Calgary, Alberta on April 14, 2024. The steam train, powered by Canadian Pacific 4-6-2 2816, will mark the one year anniversary of the merger of Canadian Pacific and Kansas City Southern. The train will visit nine cities in route, terminated in Mexico City, Mexico. Planned stops include Moose Jaw, Sask.; Minot, ND; St Paul, Minnesota; Bensenville, Ill.; Davenport, Iowa; Kansas City, Missouri; Shreveport, La; Laredo, Tx.; and Mexico City, Mx.
