NJ Transit Ready to Kick Off the NFL Regular Season at Metlife Stadium
Jets and Giants fans can skip the driving and parking with NJ TRANSIT’s BetMGM Meadowlands Rail Line service to MetLife Stadium. Beginning this Sunday night, September 10 with the Giants hosting the Dallas Cowboys and continuing through the season, NJ TRANSIT will be offering train service on the BetMGM Meadowlands Rail Line to and from Secaucus Junction for every Jets or Giants home game.

Weekly Rail Traffic for the Week Ending August 26, 2023
The Association of American Railroads (AAR) today reported U.S. rail traffic for the week ending August 26, 2023. For this week, total U.S. weekly rail traffic was 472,525 carloads and intermodal units, down 5.9 percent compared with the same week last year.

Amtrak Upgrades Celebrated at Connersville Station
Amtrak customers now have a smoother, brighter and more accessible journey with the completion of a $1.9 million project at the Connersville, Ind. station. The Amtrak Cardinal travels three-days-weekly between New York and Chicago, with a stop in Connersville.

More Amtrak Airo Trainsets Ordered to Meet Surging Demand
Amtrak executed a contract option to order 10 additional Amtrak Airo trainsets as demand for passenger rail travel exceeds expectations. This brings the total contract order to 83 trainsets. The first Amtrak Airo trainset is scheduled to debut in 2026 and these new trains will operate on routes throughout the country.

NJ TRANSIT Celebrates 40 Years of Service with Historic Rail Excursion and Display
Calling all rail history lovers! NJ TRANSIT is planning a fun-filled historic rail weekend September 30 – October 1. To kick off the events, NJ TRANSIT and The United Railroad Historical Society of NJ are partnering to operate a special excursion train titled the “40th Anniversary Express” in honor of NJ TRANSIT Rail Operations’ 40th year of public service. Riders can purchase a ticket to travel down memory lane on the Northeast Corridor and North Jersey Coast Lines in a special train with historic and conventional equipment, recreate the “South Amboy engine change” and ride the Bay Head loop track in a unique railroad experience. Then, on October 1, all members of the public are invited to historic Hoboken Terminal for a special display of NJ TRANSIT’s heritage decorated locomotives.
