MBTA Announces Partial Opening of Winchester Center Station
The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) announced today that Winchester Center station on the Lowell Commuter Rail Line will partially reopen on Monday, September 30. The south end of the station will be fully accessible and will serve passengers riding both inbound and outbound. Signage will direct riders to the platform.

Weekly Rail Traffic for the Week Ending September 7, 2024
The Association of American Railroads (AAR) reported U.S. rail traffic for the week ending September 7, 2024. For this week, total U.S. weekly rail traffic was 479,179 carloads and intermodal units, up 7.3 percent compared with the same week last year.

NJ Transit to Celebrate Railroad History With “Meet Our Rail Fleet: Past and Present” EventVENT
On Sunday, September 15, the public is invited to Historic Hoboken Terminal to join NJ TRANSIT in celebrating New Jersey’s rich railroad history with some of the agency’s iconic heritage locomotives and railroad equipment – all while learning about career opportunities available on the railroad. “Meet Our Rail Fleet: Past and Present” will be held on Sunday, September 15th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. near Track 17. Admission is free.
