AAR Reports Weekly Rail Traffic for the Week Ending March 29, 2025
The Association of American Railroads (AAR) reported U.S. rail traffic for the week ending March 29, 2025. For this week, total U.S. weekly rail traffic was 513,553 carloads and intermodal units, up 8.6 percent compared with the same week last year.

Amtrak Removes Horizon Fleet from Service
In compliance with federal requirements and its ongoing commitment to safety, Amtrak routinely inspects its railcars and locomotives. Amtrak discovered corrosion in several Horizon railcars and, while working with the manufacturer, it was decided to remove the equipment from service after learning of additional areas of concern from intensive inspections of multiple cars.
