FRA Publishes Northeast Corridor Project Report
The Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) issued a list of priority projects in the Northeast Corridor, a railroad line that spans from Boston to Washington, D.C. This list will advance a systematic approach for the improvement and development of the commuter and intercity passenger rail backbone of the region’s rail network.

Rail Traffic for the Week Ending November 12, 2022
The Association of American Railroads (AAR) today reported U.S. rail traffic for the week ending November 12, 2022. For this week, total U.S. weekly rail traffic was 490,350 carloads and intermodal units, down 2.5 percent compared with the same week last year. Total carloads for the week ending November 12 were 235,474 carloads, down 0.2 percent compared with the same week in 2021, while U.S. weekly intermodal volume was 254,876 containers and trailers, down 4.5 percent compared to 2021.

R. J. Corman Railroad Company, LLC Announces Agreement to Purchase 19th Railroad
R. J. Corman Railroad Company, LLC announces that it has entered into a definitive agreement to purchase a 43-mile railroad branch and lease a 20-mile branch from Norfolk Southern Corporation, adding its 19th railroad to its operational portfolio. The closing is subject to customary regulatory approvals.

Rail Traffic for the Week Ending November 5, 2022
The Association of American Railroads (AAR) today reported U.S. rail traffic for the week ending November 5, 2022. For this week, total U.S. weekly rail traffic was 502,106 carloads and intermodal units, down 0.4 percent compared with the same week last year. Total carloads for the week ending November 5 were 243,276 carloads, up 3.2 percent compared with the same week in 2021, while U.S. weekly intermodal volume was 258,830 containers and trailers, down 3.6 percent compared to 2021.

The Government of Canada Reaches an Agreement-in-Principle with the Town of Lac-Mégantic on the Rail Bypass Project
The Government of Canada is fully committed to the bypass project and the entire route that has been identified to permanently get trains out of downtown Lac-Mégantic. This is an important project for the community, the Government of Canada, and the families of the 47 victims of the tragedy. The Government of Canada is working with the Government of Quebec, the Town of Lac-Mégantic, and the municipalities of Frontenac and Nantes to complete this project that will benefit the community.
