Buses to Substitute for Trains on the Port Jervis Line Due to Track Work, Sept. 11 through Nov. 13

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) today announced that beginning on Sunday, Sept. 11, at 4 a.m. and continuing through Sunday, Nov. 13, at 3 a.m., buses will replace midday weekday trains and all weekend trains on the Port Jervis Line as crews from Metro-North Railroad and NJ TRANSIT work to replace 10,000 wood cross-ties, three switches and perform track joint welds. The work will enable the rail line to remain in a state of good repair, with new ties expected to last for 30 years.
