Brightline Test Trains between Cocoa and Orlando

Brightline was planning for test trains at maximum speeds of 125 miles-per-hour as soon as Wednesday, March 1, between Orlando International Airport and Cocoa. The testing will be taking place along the new 35-mile dedicated rail corridor that runs parallel to the Beachline Expressway/SR 528 in Orange and Brevard Counties.

The rail corridor is fenced and there are no public grade crossings.  With no public grade crossings, train testing will not impact motorists.

Brightline trains will be testing between 7am and 7pm daily and testing will continue throughout the Spring. The testing is in preparation for Orlando and connecting South Florida and Central Florida with intercity passenger rail.

Brightline continues to work closely with community partners, government agencies and news media to raise awareness for rail safety throughout all testing. Brightline’s current testing along the corridor from Cocoa south to West Palm Beach is ongoing, reaching speeds of up to 110 mph.
