According to a fresh video posted by Amtrak and hosted by Lead Brand Communications Specialist Matt Donnely, the national carrier will paint six locomotives into special paint schemes for its 50th anniversary. The paint schemes include five P42 locomotives with different liveries, along with the first Siemens ALC-42 locomotive in a new, upcoming, Phase 7 paint scheme.

As part of the upcoming 50th Anniversary, Amtrak released a  YouTube video today to reflect on Amtrak’s past paint schemes. Towards the end of the video it highlights the upcoming paint schemes on the six locomotives, as well as the history behind some of the more interesting designs in the railroad’s fifty year history.
