OmniTRAX, The Broe Group’s rail and real estate affiliate, and one of North America’s fastest growing privately held rail management companies, has acquired Arkansas’s Dardanelle and Russellville Railroad, Ouachita Railroad, and Camden & Southern Railroad from local operators Danny Robbins, Michael Robbins, and Tim Robbins. The acquisition is OmniTRAX’s entry into a vibrant new economic market. Over the past five years, Arkansas’s cumulative economic growth is 40% above the national average. Under the new ownership agreement, Danny Robbins and Michael Robbins will join the OmniTRAX team and manage rail operations of the newly acquired railroads.
Dardanelle and Russellville Railroad is located within the Arkansas River Valley’s robust industrial center while Ouachita Railroad, and Camden & Southern Railroad serve Southern Arkansas’s commodity customers. Operation of the newly acquired lines is expected to begin June 1.
These regional railroads have a long tradition of connecting Arkansas’s industrial and commodity providers with the North American Rail Freight Network through its interchanges with the Union Pacific Railroad and BNSF Railway. With service history dating as far back as 1883, each railroad plays an important role in regional and national supply chains. The Arkansas River Valley alone is home to nearly a dozen Fortune 500 facilities. Current freight customers span diverse industries from Stella Jones, International Paper, and Canfor to Delek, 4J, and LANXESS.
