NextGen Acela Fleet Continues to Grow

Amtrak now has 13 NextGen Acela trains in service. There are now 32 weekday NextGen Acela scheduled trips, allowing passengers more opportunities to travel on the new fleet.

This marks a significant increase from the 26 weekday Acela trips offered before the introduction of the new fleet. As more NextGen Acela trainsets enter service, passengers will benefit from increased capacity and greater schedule flexibility when planning their journeys. The expanded schedule is another milestone in Amtrak’s New Era of Rail and reflects growing demand for fast, reliable rail travel in the Northeast.

And there’s more to come. Amtrak will continue to increase Acela service in the months ahead as additional NextGen Acela trainsets join the fleet, bringing even more opportunities for passengers to travel on America’s premier high-speed rail service.
