East Broad Top RR Winter Spectacular

The East Broad Top Railroad will host the first Winter Spectacular on  February 20th. The EBT tradition of winter spectaculars  in February 1966. This  throwback event will showcase the M-1, offering both excursions and an in-depth photo session. First, heated “caboose hops” will depart hourly for round trips to McMullen’s Summit. Seats can be reserved aboard the caboose or the M-1 itself. Passengers will disembark at the Rockhill Trolley Museum. The museum will be operating a variety of trolley excursions as well, tickets must be purchased separately at rockhilltrolley.org. The last departure of the day at 3:00 pm is the official photography session coordinated by Pete Lerro Photography. Photographers will be transported by the M-1 to predetermined locations, either out on the mainline or in the Rockhill Furnace railyard. The evening will conclude with scenes in the Roundhouse area. Bundle up, wear sturdy shoes, and plan on at least five hours of walking, climbing, standing, and cold weather. Several parameters concerning the event. COVID-19 protocols will be in place. Guests are asked to wear facial coverings, and the train’s capacity has been limited to 50% to allow for proper social distancing. The railroad ask all who attend to self-evaluate for symptoms before arriving on railroad property; please do not attend if you are sick. Only ticketed photographers will be permitted to attend the Photography Session. The railyard is closed to the public. While it strives to stick to published itineraries, this event is subject to changes in equipment and schedule at the East Broad Top Railroad’s discretion. The EBT reserves the right to cancel the event for any reason, including, but not limited to, inclement weather or equipment problems.
