Western New York & Pennsylvania “Big Sixes” Strut East From Meadville to Salamanca

Railfan photographers from across the region were out in force when it was learned that the Western New York & Pennsylvania Railroad would move 128 empty coal hoppers east from Meadville, Pa., to Casino Siding in Salamanca, N.Y., for storage on May 2. The biggest news was that two the ex-Cartier M636s, 638 and 637, would lead two for-mer Morristown & Erie C430s, 431 and 432, on the special move…
